About

Small, often fragile and ephemeral structures, static or in motion, manipulated or autonomous, these little “Bidouilles” oscillate between visual art and puppetry.

These constructions are always small-scale—at most, the size of a plastic bag.

The tools and raw materials are simple and common:
– wooden stick, syringe, straw, flame, etc.
– toilet paper, water, pine resin, candle tallow, plastic bag (the
thinnest possible), and a drop of turpentine.

The resulting structures are most often fragile and ephemeral. They can be manipulated or live on their own. In motion for a time, they remain, even when static, always in play with forces and internal balances. And, they have that playful quality of not easily revealing how they took shape.

These creations come to life in live performances, videos, and photos.
A piece sometimes requires several hours of work for a few seconds of movement… which I hope will bring a little poetry to life.
